1. GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Description

In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY is back for its fifth yearly edition in May 2017, and we’re looking for a talented and driven Graphic Design intern to assist in the creation of all of the festival’s promotional material.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and professional graphic design student to intern with us in the run-up to the Festival, from February through to mid-May 2017 . This will be a great opportunity for a budding graphic designer to gain experience applying their skills in a professional environment, and to have their work be featured in all promotional material for the festival.

Each yeah, our interns are in charge of designing and creating all of the festival’s communication material including brochures, posters, flyers, programs and banners . This is a unique chance to work with a passionate team of creative professionals, and to have a real input in the visual branding of a celebrated – and growing – New York City theatrical event.

The internship will allow you to work remotely from your own home, approx. 10-20 hours per week, as well as have your work reviewed and guided by the festival management via in-person and Skype meetings.

No pay. College credits available.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the festival’s Artistic Director and Producer to conceptualize, create and produce all promotional material for the festival, including:
– posters
– banners
– programs
– playbills
– postcards
To be used digitally as well as printed to promote the festival.

Requirements

ABOUT YOU:
Our ideal candidates will have/be:
– A passion for / a degree in graphic design.
– The ability to work from home and access to own graphic design software.
– Be reliable, enthusiastic and hard working, with the ability to work quickly and meet deadlines.
– Preferably NYC-based, although much of your work can be done remotely.
– Interest in Theatre and Italian Culture is a big plus!

Skills Preferred – Graphic Design, Graphic Design Software, Theater.

2. MARKETING/PR/OUTREACH

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and professional student to intern with us in the run-up to the Festival, from February through to mid-May 2017 . This will be a great opportunity for a students who love theater, foreign culture and expressing their marketing and development talents to gain experience applying their skills in a professional environment and have their names associated with an established International Festival.

This is a unique chance to work with a passionate team of creative professionals, and to have a real input in the branding of a celebrated – and growing – New York City theatrical event.

The internship will allow you to also work remotely from your own home, approx. 10-20 hours per week, as well as have your work reviewed and guided by the festival management via in-person and Skype meetings.

No pay. College credits available.

3. VIDEO/EDITING

Seeking passionate filmmaking and editing students/recent grads with their own equipment to intern with us for the duration of our Festival: May 1 – 15th, 2017 . Amazing opportunity to gain professional experience in a fun and stimulating environment – and to have a chance to have your work featured in national and international promotional materials during and following the festival.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Our interns will be in charge of attending Festival events and capturing the essence of the Festival with their videos. You will be in charge of producing, shooting and editing coverage of all our events, as well as interviews with Festival artists, organizers and sponsors . Events include: full theater productions, theatrical readings, seminars and networking events, special Opening and Closing night events. Videos will be featured on our website and youtube channel as well as on social media and digital publications to promote the festival.

ABOUT IN SCENA!: In Scena! was the first Italian Theater Festival to take place in all five NYC Boroughs in 2013, as official part of ‘2013 – The Year Of Italian Culture in the U.S.’ Our second and third editions, in 2014 and 2015, brought with them even more Italian theater and culture, and we’re now gearing up for our fourth edition, coming in May 2016. In Scena! has been featured in the New York Times, Village Voice, Department of Cultural Affairs website and dozens of publications in the U.S. and Europe.

ABOUT YOU: Our ideal candidate will have:- Previous experience with documenting live events- A passion for / a degree in film-making, documentary-making or broadcast journalism- Filmmaking and editing skills- Your own camera and editing equipment- Must be reliable, enthusiastic and hard working!- Must be NYC-based and available from May 1 – 15th- Ability to self-report to Festival locations in all five boroughs- Interest in Theatre and Italian Culture is a plus!

4. PHOTOS

Seeking passionate photography students with own equipment to intern for IN SCENA!

New York City’s first Italian Theater Festival to span all five boroughs, IN SCENA! will have its fifth edition in May 2017 – and we are looking for a team of competent and dedicated interns with photographic experience to help us document all Festival events.

The Festival aims to involve both Italian companies and artists based in New York City, as well as theater companies and artists coming from Italy. It will offer scaled-down productions, staged readings, one-man shows, and readings with music.

We are looking for New York City-based photography interns who are available between 1 and 15 of May 2017. Our interns will be in charge of attending Festival events and capturing the essence of the Festival with their snapshots. We are searching for reliable, hard working and enthusiastic photographers with some relevant experience, who are able to provide their own equipment.

This position is unpaid, but provides a great opportunity to hone your skills and to showcase your work: select photographic material produced during the internship will be used to widely promote the Festival online and in publications during and after the event. All material will be appropriately credited. School credits.
